Comprehensive Dentistry · Ventura
If you've been putting it off — one tooth, then another, then all of it — you don't need a lecture. You need someone trained to understand the whole picture and build a plan that finally makes sense. That's what we do.

You haven't been to a dentist in years, and the longer it's been, the harder it feels to go.
You've been told "you need a lot of work" — with no plan, no order, no real number.
You chew on one side. You don't smile with your teeth. You've gotten good at both.
Old dental work is failing and nobody's looking at why.
None of this gets judged here. It gets planned, then done properly.
What "comprehensive" actually means
Something hurts, it gets fixed — that's how most dentistry works. Comprehensive dentistry asks different questions. Why did this tooth crack? Why is the old work failing?
Dr. Efner completed the full Kois Center curriculum in Seattle, a highly regarded continuing education continuum in comprehensive evidence-based dentistry.
This additional training allows her to understand that teeth don't work alone. Your bite, gums, bone, jaw joints, muscles, existing dental work, and even the way you chew all influence one another. Looking at them together helps us solve the underlying problem instead of simply repairing its consequences.
The result is one written plan that clearly shows what needs to be done, in what order, over what timeline, and at what cost.
Your first visit
Records and a conversation. That's it.
First we take complete records — X-rays, photos, 3D digital scans, and conduct a careful examination. We talk about your concerns, goals and priorities. Then Dr. Efner builds the plan and walks you through it in language you can understand.
Fewer visits, made comfortable
Comprehensive work means fewer appointments, with more done at each one. We've built for that: a calm office that doesn't look or sound like a typical dental clinic, and a team experienced in caring for patients who may be anxious. No rush, no chaos.
Comfort is the detail, not the afterthought: warm neck pillows, blankets, soft music, ear plugs. We buffer our anesthetic and use a vibrating facial massager so injections are easier, and an air polisher makes cleanings gentler.
For more involved visits, or if dental anxiety is part of your story, we plan longer appointments and go at your pace. Many patients complete in one or two visits what would otherwise take a year of appointments.
“I highly recommend this dental practice, especially if you are afraid of the dentist. They go out of their way to make you confident.”

Itemized fees
Your plan comes with transparent, itemized fees, before anything begins.
Insurance
We are in-network with Cigna PPO. Different PPO plan? We file your out-of-network benefits and provide an estimate of your portion before treatment begins. We also offer an in-house membership plan for patients without dental insurance or those with HMO plans.
Financing
No-interest third-party financing is available through Cherry and CareCredit — for 6, 12, or 24 months depending on the amount financed.

Behind the calm is a plan. Dr. Efner is a graduate of Seattle's Kois Center — an advanced continuing-education continuum in comprehensive evidence-based dentistry — and completes more than 100 hours of continuing education every year. (For reference, dentists only need 50 CE hours every two years to maintain their license.) So when your case is complicated, your plan isn't. Dr. Efner also serves as President of the Santa Barbara–Ventura County Dental Society and chairs its Continuing Education Committee.
Calm. Gentle. Competent. Kind.
Is it too late for my teeth?
Almost never. We routinely help patients who thought they had waited too long.
Will I be lectured about not coming sooner?
Never. Instead of judgment, we offer a way forward — including for cases that feel hopeless.
How much will it cost?
It depends on the plan, and you'll have the full number in writing before you decide anything. The consultation itself covers a comprehensive exam and a full series of X-rays, with photos and 3D scanning included — and we'll go over the cost with you upfront.
Can I be asleep for the work?
Some patients want extra support to get through a longer appointment; others find they don't need it. Either way, tell us and we'll plan around it.
